Edge Evolution, Was That From My Science Class?

Edge has evolved like one would hope to expect. I will tackle in this article the Edge Juice module, the Edge EZ, and the Edge Juice with Attitude monitor combo and their functionality differences.

The first is the Juice module as a stand alone item. The Edge Juice is a weather proof item that is installed under the hood for starters, this is important because you don’t want water from the road to come up under the hood and damage your electronic components. The Edge Juice as a stand alone module has three adjustable power settings.



The Edge EZ installs in a similar way to the Juice, just through two stock connectors under the hood, with a few other wires that are connected. One of the special functions of the Edge EZ is that on its economy setting it is able to atomize the fuel better. What does better atomization mean? It means that the fuel is broken up into smaller particles which in turn more particles of fuel are able to attach to oxygen which means that more fuel is being burned by the engine versus having it go out the tail pipe in a black cloud. The result is more power and better economy.



The Edge Juice with Attitude monitor combination is very different from the standalone Juice module in functionality. The added attitude monitor communicates with the engine via the CAN-BUS data stream, from which it receives vital engine, transmission, and fuel system information. Adding a module that doesn’t monitor the things it does to the engine would be dangerous. The Juice Attitude combo also tracks transmission slippage when the torque converter clutch is engaged, and if it finds that the transmission is slipping will lower the power output to protect the transmission.

Edge has evolved and continues to evolve and has thus far been able to create power and economy while protecting at the same time.
