4.2 million cars and trucks in North America, Europe and China have been recalled to repair problem in accelerator pedals. This recalls do not include Toyota models made and sold in Japan.

After hearing the plan of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Saturday, Toyota did not protest against the repair. On 20 major newspapers in the U.S, it said that the production of 8 models was stopped and the sales were cancelled. However, no information about the fix was given out. Also, Toyota has not brought out exactly when production will be started again.

The world's biggest automaker said that the problem in the gas pedals is rare and is caused by condensation that builds up in the gas pedal assembly. The faulty gas pedals were made by CTS Corp. of Elkhart, Indiana. The new pedals maybe arrive Thursday or Friday.
